Subject: Temporary station at Ajaccio (Corsica, France) 


Dear Colleagues,

A new DORIS station was installed on Feb. 13, 2002 in the frame of a 
temporary calibration experiment at Ajaccio (Corsica). It consists of 
a version 3 beacon and a Starec antenna, installed on top of a 1 m 
high, 30 cm sided very rigid tower, set on a 0.5 m sided concrete 
block.

The name of the station is "Ajaccio" and its acronym in the data files is AJAB.

The DOMES number for the antenna reference point is 10077S002.

Its approximate coordinates (ITRF2000, 1997.0) are:

X = 4696990.16 m	Y = 723981.10 m		Z = 4239679.21 m
(sigma: 2 cm)

The following velocities were computed using GPS data over a larger 
time span than those from which the ITRF2000 velocities were derived, 
and should hence be more accurate:

VX = -0.0129 m/y       VX = 0.0197 m/y        VX = 0.0109 m/y
